A. Research Council - Bill Hardgrave

The following comes with a motion for approval from the Research Council:

The Research Council recommends the removal of the following paragraph from the Research and Scholarly Misconduct Policy (Section I.B, paragraph 5):

“This statement of policy applies only to allegations of research misconduct that occurred
within six years of the date the institution or applicable federal agency received the
allegation, subject to the subsequent use of suspected data or other materials, health or
safety of the public, and grandfather exceptions in 42 CFR § 93.105(b).”

Motion from the research council to strike the 6 year deadline policy. Moved and seconded by the Research Council

Motion approved.

B. The following items are referred to the Faculty Senate for review and action at its meeting scheduled for February 10, 2010 (Key):

1. Undergraduate and School of Law course change proposals approved by the University Course and Programs Committee on January 22, 2010: Table A & Table D.

2. Graduate and Dual credit course change proposals approved by the University Course and Programs Committee on December 18, 2009 and the Graduate Council on January 21, 2010: Table B and Table C.

3. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences – Department of Food Science – FDSCBS- BS, Food Science, Food Technology Concentration (Table 1, Attachments 1A and 1B) were approved without opposition by the University Course and Programs Committee on January 22, 2010.

4. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences – Department of Computer Science – CSCE-M – Minor in Computer Science (Table 2, Attachment 2A) was approved without opposition by the University Course and Programs Committee on January 22, 2010.

5. Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Curriculum and Instruction – EDLEME – MED, Educational Leadership (Table 3, Attachment 3A) was approved without opposition by the Graduate Council on January 21, 2010.

6. Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Curriculum and Instruction – EDLEES – EDS, Educational Leadership (Table 3, Attachment 3B) was approved without opposition by the Graduate Council on January 21, 2010.

7. Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Health Science, Kinesiology, Recreation and Dance – HLSCMS – MS, Health Science (Table 3, Attachment 3C) was approved without opposition by the Graduate Council on January 21, 2010.

8. Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Health Science, Kinesiology, Recreation and Dance – HLSCPH – PhD, Health Science (Table 3, Attachment 3D) was approved without opposition by the Graduate Council on January 21, 2010.

Items 5 and 6 were removed from the Consent Agenda. All other items passed.
