The meeting was called to order at 3:29.

III. Approval of Agenda

The agenda was amended to include reports from the Committee on Admissions and Transfer of Credit and the Calendar committee.

The amended agenda was approved.

V. Reports

A. Chancellor Elect G. David Gearhart

The Chancellor Elect introduced the Interim Provost, Bob McMath and announced that we have hired a new Vice Chancellor for Advancement, Brad Choate;

The University is in good shape. When Chancellor White began, the UA had a 100 million dollar endowment. Today, we have a 900 million dollar endowment. The 6 year graduation rate has risen 16%. Incoming freshman class has the highest academic accomplishment ever.

A. Consent Agenda

1. Undergraduate course change proposals approved by the University Course and Programs Committee on March 28, 2008: Table A.

2. Courses that have been inactivated to be deleted: Table B was approved by the University Course and Programs Committee on February 22, 2008 and the Graduate Council by e-mail vote during March 2008.

3. Courses that have been inactivated to be retained; Table C was approved by the University Course and Programs Committee on February 22, 2008 and the Graduate Council by e-mail vote during March 2008.

The consent agenda was approved.

B. Program Changes

1. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Education and Health Professions – CDISBS, Communication Disorders, BSE (Table 1, Attachment 1A) was approved without opposition by the University Course and Programs Committee on March 28, 2008.

2. Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Business Administration and the Clinton School of Public Policy – BADMMB, Business Administration, MBA and UACSMP, Master of Public Service, MPS (Table 2, Attachment 2A, Attachment 2B, Attachment 2C, and Attachment 2D) was approved without opposition by the Graduate Council on March 13, 2008.

The program changes were approved.
